Stories and Photos of my travels to LaLaShan

Destination 》Asia 》East Asia 》Taiwan 》LaLaShan

Year Visited: 2019 – April

I visited LaLaShan during my two weeks backpacking trip around Taiwan during summer of 2019. LaLaShan is not easy to get to without private transport, thanks to my CouchSurfing host in Taipei I got to visit this wonderful Nature reserve, it was almost 3 hours drive each way from Taipei..

Lalashan is a beautiful mountain bordering Taoyuan and Yilan counties. It is most famous for its nature reserve, which is home to the oldest Red Hinoki Cypress trees in Taiwan, including several over two thousand years old (the oldest is 2,800 years old). The area features a 3.7-km boardwalk, with the largest Cypress trees identified with their age, trunk size and other features, but unfortunately this information is only in Chinese.

Jack, My Host in Taipei, without his help it would not be possible to visit this Nature Reserve.

The food truck near the pink color bridge was selling very delicious Bamboo Shoot soup.

Beautiful Taoyuan County.
Love this color, some how people in this region love pink, this was the second pink bridge we saw in this area.

After spending a day in the mountains we took another 3 hours drive back to Taipei.
