Year Visited: 2005 – October
I went on a business trip to Norway during October 2005, conducting a workshop for a client in Bergen.
Norway (the “northern way”), officially the Kingdom of Norway, is a Nordic country in Northern Europe whose mainland territory comprises the western and northernmost portion of the Scandinavian Peninsula, about 50,000 islands and the Artic territories.
The kingdom was established in 872 as a merger of many petty kingdoms and has existed continuously since then. Norway ranked first on the World Happiness Report for 2017. The country has the fourth-highest per-capita income in the world, and on a per-capita basis, Norway is the world’s largest producer of oil and natural gas outside of the Middle East.
As this was a business trip I didn’t have much time to explore the city. Spent four days working in Bergen and a day in Oslo. I would love to go back and explore this country again.
Bergen, a city on Norway’s southwestern coast, is the second-largest city in Norway. Surrounded by mountains and fjords, Bergen is known as the “city of seven mountains”. Founded in 1070 by king Olav Kyrre, Bergen served as Norway’s capital in the 13th century. Until 1789, Bergen enjoyed exclusive rights to mediate trade between Northern Norway and abroad and it was the largest city in Norway until the 1830s when it was overtaken by the capital, Christiania (now known as Oslo).
Pictures below are taken during a lunch break, using a basic Disposable film Camera. The pictures are of really bad quality but I want to be honest to myself and use those picture. Younger Folks who want to know more about Disposable Camera can check out this Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disposable_camera

After completing my assignment in Bergen, I few to Oslo, the capital city, for a day to visit the most important sites in the city.
Oslo is the capital and most populous city of Norway. Oslo was founded as a city at the end of the Viking Age in the year 1040 under the name Ánslo. The city became the capital of Norway around 1300. After being destroyed by a fire in 1624, a new city was built and named Christiania. The city functioned as the capital of Norway during the 1814–1905. In 1925 the city was renamed Oslo.

After 6 days in Norway, I flew to Finland for a night before flying back to Dallas. Back in those days (2005), I was really counting stamps on my passport.
