Stories and Photos from my travels to Kenya.

Destination 》Africa 》Kenya

Year Visited: 2019 – Mar

Kenya, a country in Africa, is the most powerful economy of East Africa and is also a middle income country with a fast growing middle class.

My trip to Kenya was a social visit, attending an Indian wedding in Nairobi. Yes, Kenya and all over East Africa, you will find many Indian families, mostly Gujarati, calling this part of the world their home for generations. As it was a social visit, I had a very little time to explore this country by myself solo, for that I need to come back.

During my 2 weeks visit to Kenya, we spent few days in the capital city of Nairobi, visited the Nairobi National Park. Most of other time we spent in a town of KakaMegha in the Western Kenya. Below are pictures from my visit to Kenya.

A short drive out of Nairobi’s central business district is the Nairobi National Park. Wide open grass plains and backdrop of the city scrapers, scattered acacia bush play host to a wide variety of wildlife

Hell’s Gate National Park is named after a narrow break in the cliffs, once a tributary of a prehistoric lake that fed early humans in the Rift Valley. The main setting of the 1994 film, The Lion King is heavily modeled after this park.

Enjoying a Tusker Beer at the Equator. There are many equator markers throughout Kenya, this one is near the city of Kisumu. It’s not a big park or monument like the one at Mitad del Mundo, near Quito, Ecuador.

Lake Victoria is Africa’s largest lake by area, the world’s largest tropical lake, and the world’s second largest fresh water lake by surface area. Lake Victoria touches the Equator in its northern side. The lake rests between three countries namely, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. The lake is the source of the Nile river.

There are many lake front restaurants and bar where you can enjoy the the lake with fresh food and drinks.

At Samich resort, located at beautiful edge of kerio valley, within 5 km from the town of Nyaru and 49 km from city of Eldoret.
