I visited Cape Town during my 21 days traveling through South Africa, Lesotho and eSwatini (formerly Swaziland). After two days in Port Elizabeth (Nelson Mandela Bay), I took a flight to Cape Town, the most beautiful city in South Africa.
Located on the shore of Table Bay and dominated by the iconic Table Mountain as a backdrop, Cape Town is the oldest urban area in South Africa. It was developed by the United East India Company (VOC) in 1652 as a supply station for Dutch ships sailing to East Africa, India, and the Far East. Cape Town is the second largest city in South Africa and the legislative capital of South Africa (the Houses of Parliament are here).
In 2014, Cape Town was named the best place in the world to visit by both The New York Times and The Daily Telegraph. In 2010, Forbes named it One of the World’s most beautiful cities. Cape Town is my favorite city in South Africa, the city has lot to offer, from hiking, bicycling, to beautiful beaches and wineries. You be the judge; pictures below are from Cape Town and picturesque Cape Peninsula.

Apartheid was a system of legislation that upheld segregationist policies against non-white citizens of South Africa. Just outside of High Court’s historical building you will still see two benches marked with White and Non-White.

My AirBnb, one of the best stay in South Africa, had strategic location over looking the Table Bay and the Iconic Stadium.

Pictures below are from riding around the Cape Peninsula. The entire region is very beautiful, a photographer’s paradise.

Please check put my travel stories and pictures from our visit to Cape Point and Penguins colony at Boulders Beach.
Cape Town was the last stop on my three weeks visit to South Africa, Lesotho and eSwatini, I took a flight to Dubai, a city of skyscrapers.
