Stories and Photos from my travels around Egypt

Destination 》Africa 》Egypt

Year Visited: 2014 – Oct

During 2014, while visiting India, I made a quick eight days trip to Egypt. Egypt, is a transcontinental country spanning the northeast corner of Africa and southwest corner of Asia by a land bridge formed by the Sinai Peninsula. Egypt has one of the longest histories of any country, tracing its heritage back to the 6th–4th millennia BCE. Considered a cradle of civilization. Ancient Egypt saw some of the earliest developments of writing, agriculture, urbanization, organized religion and central government.

Egypt’s long and rich cultural heritage is an integral part of its national identity, which has endured, and often assimilated, various foreign influences, including Nubian, Persian, Greek, Roman, Byzantines, Arabs, Ottoman Turkish, and British.

Below are some places I explored during my eight days in Egypt. Click on any cities to view my travel photos and stories.

After exploring Egypt for more than a week, it was time to say good bye and return back to home in Shanghai.
