Raqs Sehri (Magic of Dance): The ancient city of Khiva hosts an annual International Festival Raqs Sehri (Magic of Dance), that brings together professional and amateur artists in the field of dance, music and theater. Artists groups from Uzbekistan and various countries participate during this two days festival. I was fortunate to be in the right place at the right time to experience the 4th International Dance Festival, being hosted the same time I was in Khiva.
The old town’s streets come alive with festive atmosphere, you will see people singing and dancing in traditional costumes.

Uzbek and tourists participating in the Magic of Dance.

Dance groups from around the world are performing in front the main entrance gate of the Old Walled city.

People all over Central Asia, In all “Stan’s” but more in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, wear gold teeth as a status symbol; a symbol of wealth. It is installed in the place of healthy teeth or as crowns over filed down healthy teeth.
