Destination 》Asia 》Central Asia 》Uzbekistan 》Ferghana
Year Visited: 2019 – September
I visited Ferghana during my 3+ weeks backpacking trip across Uzbekistan. I took a morning train from Tashkent to arrive in Ferghana, the capital of Fergana region of Uzbekistan. The Fergana Valley is the most fertile valley, blessed with the finest soil and climate in all of Central Asia. It is spread across eastern Uzbekistan, southern Kyrgyzstan and northern Tajikistan.
The valley was a major trading post on the ancient Silk Road, but there are not many monuments or souvenir shops compared to Samarkand, Bukhara or Khiva. Ferghana is more about hanging out with locals rather than visiting historical sites. The Fergana Valley is a home to the nicest people in Uzbekistan.
Below are few pictures I took in Ferghana valley

Ferghana was the last stop on my 3+ months travel through Central Asia. Next stop is India. It is going to be a Diwali Festival during October, 2019.
