Destination 》Asia 》Central Asia
Collectively known as “the Stans”, Central Asia has historically been a nexus of nomadic life and the Silk Road trade routes, This region has acted as a crossroads for the movement of people, goods, and ideas between Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Below you can find my photos from travels to the former Soviet Republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

Kazakhstan is a gorgeous country, well-endowed by large oil and natural gas reserves. The largest cities, Nur-Sultan and Almarty are quite modern and developed.

Kyrgyzstan has incredible natural beauty and proud nomadic traditions. Often known as the Switzerland of Central Asia, the entire country is dominated by the Tian Shan mountain range, with tall peaks, glaciers, and high-altitude lakes.

Tajikistan is wild, rugged, remote, bound by pristine alpine lakes, golden plains and snow-capped peaks. It is a home to the world-famous and challenging Pamir Highway.
