Murghab is a large settlement, so before we started to drive towards Bulunkul, we filled up gas, exchange to Tajik Somoni at the Bank, purchased Tajik SIM card.

Bulunkul is a very small settlement near two lakes Bulunkul and Yashikul. The town has less than 20 dwellings, a very small shop and a bakery.
Our luxurious home-stay in Bulunkul, it had a satellite TV, bucket of hot water in bathroom (no shower) and western style toilet.Lake Yashikul, a freshwater lake in The Pamir. We noticed blurs in the video because Muslim laws in Afghanistan doesn’t allow to show woman’s bare shoulders or legs.
Because of the flat tire, we had to change our original plan of visiting Wakhan Valley, instead decided to go Khorog so we can get the tire repaired. I will visit Wakhan Valley from Khorog by hitchhiking. The most rewarding experience during my entire backpacking trip.
In May 2017, 23 days before I was going to complete 50 years, grabbed an opportunity and took an early retirement.. Picked up a backpack and traveling ever since.. Love to travel around the world, experience different culture, local cuisine & drinks .. and take pictures.. so far been to 108 countries and still counting...
