Ala-Archa

Stories and Photos from my travel to the alpine national park near Bishkek.

Destination 》Asia 》Central Asia 》Kyrgyzstan 》Bishkek 》Ala-Archa

Year Visited: 2019 – August

I visited Ala-Archa during my three plus weeks backpacking across Kyrgyzstan. After Issyk-Kul my next destination was Osh. As there was no shared taxi or a marshrutka available from Bokonbaevo to Osh, I took a marshrutka back to the capital city of Bishkek. While I was in Bishkek, I went for a day trip to Ala-Archa National Park.

The Ala-Archa National Park is an alpine park only 40 km from Bishkek, in the Tian Shan mountains of Kyrgyzstan, Ala-Archa Gorge is the most beautiful in Kyrgyzstan, a must visit place if you are in the neighborhood.

Photos below are from my a day-trip to to Ala-Archa.

A lodge at the edge of the National Park where you can stay overnight.

Few bicyclists and hikers in the park, with prior permission, you could camp in the park.

My next destination was Osh, but as it was a very long ride, I decided to break my journey and stay over night in a beautiful town of Toktogul.
